Our Mission...

Weatherby Lake is a small private lake located just to the NW of Kansas City, MO. The main mission of the Weatherby Lake Yacht Club is to foster sailboat racing at Weatherby Lake.  There is a Handicap race every Sunday afternoon, in which boats of all types can race together. At various times in the past there have also been one-class fleets, such as the Laser fleet, Snipe fleet, Butterfly fleet, and at present we have Sonar and Santana fleets.  There are also special events such as the Regatta, when skippers and boats from all over the Midwest come to Weatherby Lake to race, and the Long Distance Classic race.  And don't forget the parties, which are probably the best at Weatherby Lake! Any homeowner or resident can join the Weatherby Lake Yacht Club — you don't have to own a sailboat. So come on and join the fun!

The Weatherby Lake Yacht Club is trying something new this year. We are combining the Awards Dinner on Nov. 16 with the Winter Fling and calling it the Yacht Club Fall Fling. Be sure to RSVP for this event by November 2nd. Please see the Events Calendar for details. After that is the Thanksgiving Sail & Party on the day after Thanksgiving on Nov. 29 at Dave Ebbrecht's house. After that — winter!
